A Transatlantic Journey with Granny’s Attic and Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage
Saturday 16th February 2:30 pm
Enjoy two of the most popular young acts around on the Folk / Americana scene today in the UK in this double-billed concert.
After the highly successful Transatlantic concert last year, we are delighted to welcome back Granny’s Attic to the festival after being one of the highlights at last year’s event. They are a fantastic young folk trio who play the tradition with verve, energy and their own inimitable style. They play a range of English, Irish and Scottish traditional music as well as their own compositions.
Joining them this year are Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage a multi-talented duo who have become one of the most popular folk / Americana acts to have emerged on the British music scene in recent years. They present a unique and intimate show of American roots and English folk music. Huddled around a single microphone, singing intimate duets with just mountain dulcimer, dobro and guitar.
Fleetingly, they may evoke a memory of Gram and Emmylou, Shirley and Davey, but their warm distilling of influences from both sides of the Atlantic produces a refined sound that is decidedly their own.
‘An exquisite soundscape, which is the result of passion, precision and unbridled intimacy’ - R2 Magazine.
‘This is folk music for everyone – a master-class in proficiency, an exercise in individuality and a declaration of love of the folk tradition from both sides of the Atlantic’ ★★★★★ Spiral Earth
